Atomic Precision Position Encoders.
The SPPE-1000 system attains 7.6 picometer precision and is based on a reflective diffraction position encoder and patented FPGA technology. Developed in part through collaboration with Nikon Corp. in Japan, it incorporates numerous new technologies such as a MEMS laser scanning mirror, a Super Luminescent Diode (SLD) light source, and an optical fiber guided light source in a compact and low cost package. NanoWave's Scanning Probe Position Encoder (SPPE) technology offers many advantages over other encoder technologies.
